DJ Services – Background and Overview

John Riddell can be hired play a variety of music styles 80's, 90's, Chart, House, RnB / Hip Hop and Indie or any combination of these.

John has been a DJ for 13 years. In this time he has accumulated around 10,000 CDs, a large number of DVDs and approximately 1000 Vinyl records. It is not possible to take all these records to every gig! But, given enough time it is possible to pick out some choice tunes for any occasion. If you would like to hear a specific record or style of music please email in a playlist. Bookings are accepted for all types of functions.

John was a founding member of Edinburgh’s “Fluid People” DJ Crew.

Safety

Through his other work John is trained in multiple areas of health and safety. He holds a current S.P.A Safety Passport. All equipment used is tested for electrical safety. In fact, John also operates a PAT Testing service.

Nightclubs and Bars

John usually DJs in a nightclub environment. He is equipped for Video DJing and can either provide his own LCD / plasma displays or offer a range of connections to hook up to an in house system.

Bookings are accepted even at short notice. A typical response time for emergency cover in central Edinburgh is within 1hr.

Basic Mobile DJ – New for 2009.

A down to earth Mobile DJ package is now avaliable. The basic package includes a JBL PA suitable for up to 200 people. 2 basic light effects suitable for up to 80 people, a 17inch video display and his DJ services for up to 6hrs.

In the Edinburgh area this basic package costs only £90 on week nights or £160 at weekends.

This package can be booked with virtually no notice (but is subject to availability).

Advanced Mobile DJ – Ideal for large corporate functions or UK / Asian weddings.

These are amongst the largest, most spectacular mobile discos on the market without involving a separate event management company. Advanced packages are scalable to suit any audience of between 200 and 1600 people.

This equipment is always provided with technical crew. Using one of our DJs is optional.

The following list is designed to give an indication of the equipment available and the costs involved. The exact cost will be worked out on a case by case basis. A weeks’ notice is normally required for advanced gigs in order to arrange event crew.

An extra kilowatt of PA for an extra £100 per kW up to maximum of 8kW. PA systems are high quality, using JBL, Adlib Audio or RCF T-Series speakers. For a wedding you probably need around 1kW per 200 people.
